XLP31 is a vinyl silane mixture cross-linking system (with no antioxidant and metal deactivator ) developed for use in moisture cross-linking of low and medium voltage (up to 36 KV)cables,. Silane blend XL31 is the equivalent product to XL PEarl® 31 of Momentive OSi Specialties. with a foamed polymer as the carrier.

1.Product Introduction of the XLM silane XLM31


Dry Silane XLM31 is free-flowing granules masterbatch of liquid silane blend XLP31. XLP31 is a vinyl silane mixture cross-linking system (with no antioxidant and metal deactivator ) developed for use in moisture cross-linking of low and medium voltage (up to 36 KV)cables,. Silane blend XL31 is the equivalent product to XL PEarl® 31 of Momentive OSi Specialties. with a foamed polymer as the carrier.

Dry Silane XLM31 is the masterbatch of XL31 adsorbed on foamed polyethylene pellets.


2.Application of the XLM silane XLM31:


It is mainly used for crosslinking of low- and medium-voltage power cables based on stabilized polyethylene resins. Improves stability. Prevents premature crosslinking.


3.Packing Details of the XLM silane XLM31


The regular packing of this product is 20 kg aluminum foil bag with carton box outside. Other custom-tailor packing is possible on special request.

4.Storage and Shelf Life of XLM silane XLM31


Should be stored in dry, cool, ventilated room; keep away from water, moisture, high temperature and fire. Packages already opened should be used up immediately; otherwise this product will react with the moisture in the air and will be not qualified for use. This product has a shelf life of at least 6 months from date of manufacture in the original packing.


5. Dosage of XLM silane XLM31:


Depending on the formulation and performance target, a dosage level of 1~2% active silane is needed (e.g. when using XLM31-LL, an addition of 2.5- 5 % is recommended).


6. Processing


Since Dry Silane is sensitive towards humidity, dry components have to be used. Predrying of the base polymer is recommended to a water contents below 600 ppm. Never dry the Dry Silane masterbatch!

Recommended temperature settings are given below depending upon screw design and resin type:

Barrel:

140/160/180/200/220/220°C

(Note: when using the DSE-carrier, the following profile is applicable: 80~100/120/160/180/220/220°C)

Head and die:

220°C

Screw cooling:

neutral or 80 ~ 100°C

Feed zone:

30 ~ 40°C

This profile will vary slightly depending on extruder type, head design and output.
